A large, bushy evergreen shrub with purple young shoots. Leaves small, spiny on upper surface as well as the margins, broadly edged with creamy-white. Flowers small and white. Sometimes known as ‘Hedgehog Holly’

Well-drained or moist but well-drained soil.
