CHRISTMAS MENU

Celebrate the season at Mabel’s Café, with a Christmas menu designed for relaxed lunches and unhurried catch-ups, in a warm and welcoming setting. Choose from comforting, well-judged favourites: start with creamy garlic mushrooms on sourdough or smoked salmon on a toasted muffin, then move on to roast turkey with all the trimmings, homemade fish pie, or a hearty nut roast, finishing with Christmas pudding and brandy sauce, classic apple pie, or an indulgent ice cream bombe. You shouldn’t go hungry!

Our Christmas menu is only available Friday 12th, Saturday 13th, Sunday 14th, Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st December. Two courses are £18.95 or three courses £22.95. The standout festive offer is 2 x 3-course meals plus a bottle of house wine for £50. Please let us know any dietary requirements when ordering; allergen information is available on request.

Mabel’s is a modern garden centre café restaurant with lots of character and charm on the outskirts of Lymington. It’s bright and spacious with fabulous gardens to sit in the sunshine or admire through the bifold doors on cooler days. Why not visit Mabel’s Farmshop too? Winter Menu

Our Winter Menu at Mabel’s is a deliberately smaller and more focused than our summer offering, but its perfect for the quieter months, without compromising on quality or comfort. For breakfast, expect familiar favourites done properly: a Traditional English Breakfast (or Vegan Breakfast), Eggs Benedict/Florentine/Royale, avocado & poached egg on chargrilled sourdough, American-style pancakes, and Greek yoghurt with granola and berries—plus breakfast deli subs for something quick and satisfying.

From lunchtime, the emphasis shifts to warming, light easy-going classics: toasted ciabattas, generous jacket potatoes, soup of the day, and seasonal plates such as pie of the day with mash and vegetables, gammon, eggs & chips, and five-bean chilli (with a children’s menu available too). Breakfast is served 9.00am–11.30am (10.00am–11.30am Sundays) and lunch runs 12.00pm–3.00pm.  Please let the team know any dietary requirements when ordering. Allergen information is available, and gluten-free bread can be requested.

Who is Mabel? Mabel was a very special person indeed and our Managing Director’s mother. Mabel used to come in one day every week to help with propagation up until the age of 95! 

At the heart of Shallowmead’s destination garden centre lies Mabel’s Café, a light-filled, inviting space where the summer menu sings with fresh, seasonal flavour. From morning through late afternoon, the café offers an evolving menu that thoughtfully balances wholesome indulgence with vibrant, garden-inspired dishes. Breakfast is an elegant affair — think poached eggs on chargrilled sourdough, golden French toast with cinnamon, or a full traditional spread using locally sourced ingredients. For lighter appetites, Greek yoghurt layered with berry compote and honeyed granola offers a refreshing start.
